Developing Service and Housing Projects: Updated 5-31-12

Here are the new and developing projects:

85/87 Laurel St
The Way Home
Mary Sliney
Underdevelopment: This project will rehabilitate an existing building and create 3 apartments to house 6 chronically homeless veterans.

335 Somerville
Harbor Homes
Vanessa Sarlo
Underdevelopment: This project will create a 26-unit apartment that will serve as both transitional and permanent supportive housing for homeless veterans and their families.

Lowell St Housing

New: This project created 17 single-room occupancy (SRO) style units, of which 4 units are permanent supportive housing for chronically homeless women and 13 units are specialty emergency housing for single homeless women (or women with children) remaining longer-term.

Valley and Belmont

New: This project created 12 units of permanent supportive housing for homeless individuals and families. Seven of the building’s units are dedicated to people with co-occurring disorders.

Porter St Apartments

New: This project created 31 one-bedroom apartments located at South Porter Street for occupancy by homeless or elderly persons and persons with disabilities who require supportive services to live independently.
