College Guide for Homeless Students

According to FAFSA, 60,000 college students reported that they were homeless while attending college in 2013, but the actual number of homeless college students in the United States is believed to be much higher. Navigating higher education is difficult enough for fully-supported students, but homeless college students face unique and sometimes impossible challenges in their quest for higher education. For these students, college is a crucial step in securing their futures.

In order to aid in this fight, the team at has put together a guide to navigating college while homeless, which includes resources to help students:

  • An overview of the homeless student population
  • Information on finding local support resources
  • Information on addressing immediate needs, e.g. housing, food, and healthcare
